Club started their season off with a delicious pot luck supper. Guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Jack Lord from the R.B.G., Hamilton, who gave a very in- teresting and knowledgeable talk and showed slides on what to plant to attract birds to your garden. The monthly competition was won by Grace Bajema , Ann- Julia Bajema & Alice Turcotte. Alice also won the door prize, a lovely picture frame donated by Scugog Glass and Mirror. Thursday, April 7 is our next bus trip to the National Home Show and Garden Festival '88, Exhibition Place, Toronto. Tickets can be obtained at Lizylou Color Craft, Queen St. at a cost of $12.25 (Entry & bus return). Our next meeting on April 5 will feature Mrs. Sylvia Szot from Safer Ltd. who will speak on "Biological Control of Insects." This is also our bake & plant sale and members are asked to be generous with their donations, especially with plants, as extra plants are needed for our plant sale table at the Hospital Aux- iliary Spring Fair on April 30 at the Latcham Centre, proceeds of sale going to the hospital. Please join us at the Nestleton Hall at 7:30 P.M. for the sale. Regular meeting will start at 8:00. Low-income tax help Community Care Volunteers are prepared to assist low income families and seniors with their In- come Tax returns. They have completed a Revenue Canada Taxation Workshop. The program is designed to respond to the needs of the single parent family, and elderly or disabled people with limited means. Craft Guild The Louise Patterson Guild held its meeting on March 9th in the Presbyterian Church Hall with 18 members present. The business meeting consisted mostly of making plans for our craft show on April 15. Our next meeting will take place April 13. All those interested in crafts are most welcome.
