My Easter Wish May God who watches over all look down from above and bless this special season with happiness and love. God's blessings be upon you in a very special way as you remember his Resurrection Day. All the Evans family met at the home of Grant and Lynn Evans on Friday to celebrate birthdays. Happy Birthday to Ross Evans, his daughters Beth Wilson, Wendy Evans, and Grant's wife Lynn Evans. On Saturday Keith and Ann Wilson visited Beth and Doug Wilson, also Keith's parents El- mer and Ruth Wilson. The Basters attended a reception at Pickering to meet Paul's niece Andrea and her husband Roland Schenkler of Medicine Hat, Alber- ta, who is a Divinity student at Winnipeg College and Andrea has a sister who is Dean at Women's Bible College at Winnipeg Uni- versity. On Sunday, Jim and Clara Jones were guests at the Baster home to celebrate Easter and Ca- thy's birthday. Gerald and Nancy Hill had a get- away weekend in Oshawa and it is Happy Birthday to Kelly, their daughter, whose birthday is this week. Dr. Jerrold Asling of Hanover visited his parents on Sunday. In the afternoon they attended a shower and buffet supper in hon- our of Miss Faye Clarke's forth- coming marriage. This was held at the home of Faye's mother Mrs. Olive Barton in Uxbridge. Mr. and Mrs. Don Asling are entertaining their family on Mon- day. Mrs. Ruth Ashton was pleased to have all her family with her for Easter Sunday except daughter-in- law Joyce Ashton who was recov- ering from the flu. Dr. and Mrs. Wm. McKay and family were Easter guests with his parents Bill and Melba McKay. The UCW meeting will be next Tuesday at the home of Elizabeth Taylor at 1 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Acton, Stouffville, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ross Evans on Friday evening. Our deepest sympathy to Ralph and Dianne and Jeffrey Notting- ham in the passing of Dianne's mother Mrs. Brown who was laid to rest on Thursday. Epsom and Utica services were held Good Friday at Epsom and were well attended. Congratula- tions to the Youth Group and their leaders for a tasty breakfast. . Mr. and Mrs. Ray Munro were in Belleville last week to the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Mac Wilson of Belleville one day last week. On Sunday all the family of Dorothy and Ray Munro celebrat- ed Easter at their home. The "worship opened with a reading "In The Garden of Gethsemane' by Pat Kingstone which was followed by a hymn "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross." Scripture was taken from Matthew 26 verses 36-44 which was read by Bernice Dobson. Pat spoke on "Prepare For Easter' followed by the hymn "Beneath The Cross Of Jesus." The worship closed with Bernice reading a poem on "Easter Sunrise' followed by prayer. Irene Lamb conducted the Manchester UCW March meeting held WIWGTgy = business. Lucille Gray read the minutes and was approved. On Monday, March 7 we visited the Villa, the ones that had a bir- thday this month received a gift - a sing-song was enjoyed - birth- day cake and ice cream was served. The Oshawa Presbyterial was held at the Centennial Church, Oshawa. The guest speaker was Rev. Sylvia Dunstan, Chaplain at the Whitby jail. On April 24, services will be led by U.C.W. members. The hostess served hot cross buns, jam & biscuits. Apirl meeting is on the 7th with Irene & Gwen Lamb in charge.
