OG \ 4 Margaret Ann Lamb Extend dump hours (From page 1) up periods in spring and fall, it will also allow the Scugog dump to take garbage from the Region's garbage transfer station in Oshawa. The hours of that station on Ritson Road will be extended to 3:00 PM for the specified Satur- days in spring and fall. The Region estimates it will cost an extra $3,000 to extend the Saturday hours to 3:00 PM. The move came about when politicians and staff from Oshawa complained to the Region that the noon closing of the Ritson trans- fer station did not give residents enough time to do Saturday yard clean-up and get the trash to the station. Regional council will have to approve the recommendations at a meeting this week. The Works de- partment is recommending that the extended Saturday hours be tried on an experimental basis this year.
