(From page 2A) players to the penalty box. The MoJacks took 20 minors and the Barons 21, and Baron coach Jim Nixon was hit with a match pen- alty for his angry dis-agrecment over the disputed goal by Sme- thurst. With so many minor penal- ties, the MoJacks got some out- standing work from their checking specialists Long, Smcthurst, Hartford and Warriner who kept the Barons from getting a power play goal. With defenseman Chris Ed- mondson out of the line up with a leg injury, Jeff McColl, Rob Metcalfe, and Darren Nesbitt logged a great decal of ice time with Hartford also seeing duty on the blue line. Phil McBride, from the Port Midgets played several shifts in this pressure-packed game. GAME THREE The MolJacks returned to the Scugog Arena April 21 for their first home ice game in almost two weeks, and for 30 minutes they looked very much like they enjoyed the friendly confines. The MoJacks were cruising along with a 3-1 lead over the Bar- ons in the second period when they suddenly coughed and sput- tered, then stalled completely. The Barons tied the game 3-3 by the end of the second, scored early in the third, and then it was their turn to coast to a fairly com- fortable 5-4 victory. The MoJacks scored in the final minute to make it look respectable, but they man- aged just three shots on the Baron cage in the final frame. The MoJacks started the game in much different fashion. At 3:10 of the first, Dean Smethurst took a pass from Darren Nesbitt, cut wide around a defenseman and slid PORT PERRY WADO KAI KARATE CLUB Award winning Karate Club for all ages. At 9:21, with the teams again playing four-aside, Rob Baker scored a near carbon copy marker. He cut wide, then moved in front and beat Nightingale with a good shot to the stick side. The Barons counted at 10:21 on a long shot from well out by Dave Hopkins, and MoJack goalie Brian Tarlcton would like to have that one back. The turning point in this game was just before the middle of the second pcriod. At 4:29, Rob Baker got his stick on a Jeff McColl slap shot from the blue line and the puck deflected into the Barron nct. The MoJacks then had a great chance to make the score 4-1 as they went on the power play, but some good pressure didn't result in a goal. At 9:58, Jelf Alexander scored for the visitors, again on a shot from fairly well out to make it 3- 2. Steve Schenk ticd the game at 3-3 at 16:41 on a screcned shot while the MoJacks were short- handed. The MoJacks had plenty of chances in the sccond to put the game away as they controlled the play. But rather than shoot the Team needs one more win puck, they scemed to bc trying LO sct up the "perfect play." At the 13-sccond mark of the third, the Barrons Scott Ralston took advantage of a MoJack turn- over to make it 4-3, and that real- ly deflated the Port Perry squad. They were not able to get their game in gear in the final per- jod as the Barrons made it 5-3 at 17:01. With 52 seconds left and Tarleton out of the net for an ex- tra skater, John Hartford made it 5-4 when he knocked a clearing pass into the net. Shots on goal in the third were 17-3 in favour of the visitors and that pretty much tells the tale of the game. Usually, the Mo- Jacks are a strong third period club. But in this one, they seemed to abandon their strong skating in favour of a more physical ap- proach which played right into bump and grind style of the Bar- ons.
