In this fast pace of living in which we find ourselves caught up in, and with so many cars on the Sy Warmth is needed to encourage blooms road 10-day, it is gratifying some- times to reflect on memories of yesteryear. How about this one? It takes us back to 100 years ago, when new driving sheds were be- ing erected at the Ashburn Presby- terian Church to accomodate twelve teams of horses. There are a few Ashburn residents who can still recall the sheds standing on the church property. I understand that these same sheds were re- moved sometime in the carly 40's. No doubt to make more available space for the modem car. Last Sunday was Commemora- tion Sunday at Burns Church, when we commemorated the re- building of the new Burns Church. On Sunday, February 12, 1967 our former church was com- pletely destroyed by fire and on April 21, 1968, the new Burns Presbyterian Church was dedicated to the glory of God. Last Sunday, we paused to re- flect on the memory of these two historical events as.a congrega- tion. Rev. McEntyre sang a beau- tiful solo 'One Sweetly Solemn Thought'. The scriptures were read by Moyra Dobson and Bob Nix- on. Rev. McEntyre chose as his sermon title 'The Resurrection Conspiracy', taking his text from St. John, Chapter 20, verses 21 and 22.
