Tiffany is the -- _--""-- aa a i - The proposed Honey Heights subdivision north of Port Perry has been given "approval in prin- ciple" by Scugog Township. But the number of lots has been scaled down considerably from the original 74 to 47, and the Township will retain a strip of open space along the Lake Scu- gog shoreline. The revised plan for 47 lots was unveiled Monday afternoon for council by developers George and Willie Stone and their planner Henry Kortekaas. When plans for a 74 lot devel- opment had been presented earlier this year, council had objected to the number and the fact that many of the lots went right to the edge of the lake. The Honey Heights proposal is on the east side of the Seagrave Road, just to the south of Con- cession Road 9 and just north of the Castle Harbour development. In granting "approval in prin- ciple" to the concept of homes in that area, council will demand guarantees that any new homes do not have adverse effects on exist- ing wells in the area, and that en- gineering measures be taken to prevent drainage problems on homes along the Honey's Beach Road. Council has also asked that the open space area along the lake be enlarged by about the size of two lots, and that the developers turn over to the municipality about an acre of land just off Con- cession 9 that can be used as a parking area for ice fishermen and snowmobilers in the winter. It should have read that Non- quon Travel of Port Perry was named to the Million Air Club of Air Canada for booking over $1 million worth of business with the air line, not one million miles. The new plan unveiled Mon- day calls for a road to link the de- velopment with Castle Harbour and also to link up with the Hon- ey's Beach Road. Another link to the 9th Concession would be built to the north of Honey's Beach. The approval in principle was endorsed by all members of coun- cil except Harvey Graham who said he won't support subdivision Nod given Honey Heights proposals in rural areas of the Township. When development plans for Honey Heights were first made public, there were strong objec- tions from a few residents in the area who feared an adverse effect on their wells and from a farmer 'on the north side of Concession 9 who expressed concern about en- croachment of homes into a farm- ing area. Although the development is still a long way from final ap- proval, getting the Township council's endorsement at this stage is an important step in the process for the developers. 12'/>-hp Lawn Tractors The 160 with 5-speed transaxle and 165 with hydrostatic drive, each with 38-in. cut.
