The meaningful devotional with a 'prayer' theme was capably taken by Gwen and the Scripture from Matthew 6 was read by Jean. Two hymns were sung, "O, For A Closer Walk With God" and "In Christ There Is No East Or West", closing with a humorous story and prayer. Quilling Demonstration A good friend from St. Christopher...Edda Bowman, was introduced by Gwen. Edda is a talented lady...proficient in many crafts. She is an instructor of both quilling and decoupage in Panama City, Florida, during the winter months. After being in- troduced...she demonstrated her beautiful "quilling" with two men and ten women mastering the quilling technique, during the next hour or so, under the guiding hand of expert, Edda! Speaker of Interest The U.C.W. was pleased to have Rev. Richard Choe, a very thought provoking speaker...pre- sent many ideas to 'mull' over after we returned home. Richard was born in Korea, and came to Canada at the early age of 14. All his family have settled in the Toronto area. Richard brought us an infor- mative message re - his native land, Korea, and other countries as well. He went back into history...relating tragic stories of the second World War... Korean War, and the years which follow- ed, with unrest - a divided coun- try and families split - illiteracy common among the lower classes of people! Starvation was ram- pant in these mixed up countries - rice and potatoes made up their daily diet. A lot of students were upset and backing the wrong regime! He stated, he would choose a dictatorship over a Com- munist regime! A most enlightening talk! Much applause greeted Richard when he finished. He was thanked by the Leader. We offer "best wishes" to Richard for success in [Rag PORT PERRY CLINIC Dr. Eva Mueller Chiropractor & Naturopath - now located at - 230 QUEEN ST. PORT PERRY * NOTE NEW NUMBER * 985-4422 0 Mon. Wed.
