Scugog Public Library has programs planned that will help the children in Port Perry and area enjoy great summer days. July 4 will start the summer off with a favourite activity, a puttet show, performed by Kids Kapers of Toronto. July 7 & 8 the Library will be conducting a Canoeing workshop, instructed by Barry Page. Everyone, ages 10 years and older, is invited to register. Be a 'card shark,' join the sum- mer "Read to Succeed' reading club. As in the last two years, 'children can come to the Library to practice and develop good reading skills and at the same time have fun sharing good books with other children. This program will run in July and August for two week periods, pre- registration is encouraged. In the Computer Corner. The blue dot, a prestigious symbol of computer awareness in our Library community, will once again be granted to participants in the computer orientation pro- grams being held on Wednesday morning during July and August. This program for the computers is designed to familiarize children with operation of the Commodore 64 computers and some of the software available at the Library. Parents are welcome to come and share this experience with their children. Pre-registration is necessary. During "Great Britain Festival Days" the Library and the Scugog Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor TV Ontario Polka Dot Door Live at the Festival Tent in Palmer Park.
