wt OW Third annual show Arts festival sure has grown by Donna Kent, Festival of Art Co-ordinator The 3rd annual Festival of Arts on the lake Arts and Craft Show and Sale promises to be a great addition again this year to the British Festival Days sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. The Fesitval of Arts exhibitors will be at the Port Perry High School on saturday, July 16th from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. along with the Birdseye Centre Carvers Club. I am very pleased with the local talent and that of people who will be travelling some distance to display and sell their creations. Chris Montgomery - The Glasshopper of Whitby. will be here again with her stained glass items. Marcela Lukavsky of Ux- bridge is also returning with many new and original designs in jewellery. Jean and Jan Bajer of the Belfry Arts and Crafts Studio, Brunner, Ont., who recently displayed their paper mache' sculpture in our library will be selling prcelain pottery, enamell- ed copper jewellery and the paper mache' sculpture. Barbara Kim- ball, Oshawa and Irene Duyf, Brooklin, will also delight the lovers of stoneware and pottery. For Margot Brin of Kingston this will be her first show in Port Perry but I am sure she will be returning as Susan Haslett- Scholfield, Port Perry, did this year to again display their unique designs in hand weaving and spin- ning. Other local talen will include Ina LeGard with folk art and Shirley Turnbull with handmade cloth dolls, quilted pillows and wall hangings. Also for those "country" people, Bob Holdforth of Creative Dads will have a fabulous display of Victorian carved rocking horses and decoys both finished and unfinished. Diana Bent of Port Perry has also been busy with a new collection of quilted cushions, aprons, hoop art and baby quilts. Kitras and Newton of Whitby with their colourful Teddy Bear Dough Art will brighten your day and Joan Emmerson of Nestleton is back with her silk flowers. Also returning is Sandra Pentland with delightful apple dolls but new to the show is Mrs. George Pentland with a variety of knitted sweaters, deresses and other articles. Also returning is Marie McFarlane of Clinton, Ont., with handmade dolls, clowns and hobby horses and Joan Herbert - "The Town Clown' of Oshawa with soft PORT PERRY CLINIC HOGAN'S HEARING AID CENTRE of Port Perry DENNIS J. Their moving sand pictures will be very well received if past shows are any indication. Our little Fesitval of Arts show is getting better every year with great exhibitors and quality work but one thing that has always been at it's best is the friendly people who come to say hello and "buy we hope". See you at this year's show.
