On June 23, Standard Electric 'won it's first game of the season by beating Brian's Towing by the score of 16 to 15. Marcus Otis played a good game for Standard Electric by catching two flies and hitting a double. Pete King made a great running catch in left field while Kevin Pearce drove in the winn- ing run and was the winning pitcher. For Brian's Towing, Andrew Jones made some good catches in field, while Graham Holt went 3 for 4 at the plate. On June 21st at Blackstock Fairgrounds, Port Perry Kinsmen met Blackstock Lioness'. The game ended with a score of 20 to 10 for the Kinsmen. The Tennis Racket Still time to enter Doubles The first 'tun' tennis tourna- ment of the year was held on Sun- day, May 22 and it was just that, fun and lots of sun! This Saturday, the Mixed Doubles Tournament is being played, a bit more on the serious side, but still a lot of fun for all participants. The entry fee is $12.00 per team plus 1 new can of tennis balls. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 2 mat- ches as there will be a consolation round. Organizer George Bright states the deadline for signing-up is Wednesday, June 29, 6:00 p.m. and is posted on the bulletin board at courtside. Kawartha League team members of the Nautilus Tennis Club of Peterborough played 'against Port Perry members on our courts last Thursday evening. The score was tied at 3-3. This Wednesday our Kawartha team travels to Fenelon Falls for more competitive playing.
