McEn- tyre chose as his sermon title last unday moming "The Bible and the Weather," and very fitting subject for this present day heat wave we are experiencing. His text was from St. Matthew, Chapter 16, verses 2 and 3. There is a close relationship toward the attitude of weather to our faith in God. During the service Mr. Doug Holroyd from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba sang a very beautiful solo, accompanied on the organ by Arnold Ashton. Visiting with the Davidchucks this past week were Jodene and Deidre Clary also from Portage la Prairie. Bill Gardner has returned home following his visit with relatives in Manitoba. Visiting Fogently at the Ashton home were Jennifer and Tiffany Morgan, from Calgary, Alberta, also Grant and Sheila Parrott from Picton, and Doug Holroyd visit- ing over the weekend. As you can see from this photo, there were lots of hats (and some very Interest- ing ones) on display last Thursday by the children taking part In the Vacation Bible Study at Hope Christian Church in Prince Albert. Ted and Rose Heron have re- cently sold their home in Ashburn to Mr. Michael Shanley. Rose has moved to an apartment in Whitby, while Ted is still at the Whig Oenerd) Hospital. We are sorry that Rose found it to move from us, but we know it will be much more convenient for her as she makes her visits to the hospital. We wish her well as she makes this adjustment. Shower held for bride-to-be Prince Albert and Area News by Earline Armstrong Prince Albert gathered together on Wednesday evening August 10 at the Community Hall to honour Heather Hodgins and her husband to be. Mark on their forthcoming marriage in September. Sixty five - friends and neighbours watched as Heather opened numerous gifts. I am sure they are well practised for Christmas Day on the opening bit. After thanking everyone for coming and the gifts, a delicious lunch was served by Beth Pere- man, Dorothy Hope and Beth Willis. Good luck on September 10th to you both. Ann and Danny Coy and son Daniel from British Columbia have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ray Collins and son Gordon over on Queen Street. They also spent a few days with Betty's mom Ma- rie Barllett and girls in Whitby. Happy Birthday to Kelly Parrish she was another year older on Au- gust 15.
