Nothing cancelled, but weather drops attendance at Fair The inclement weather that hit the area over the weekend hurt the attendance at the annual Port Perry Fair, but none of the events at the three-day Fair had to be cancelled due to the lack of co-operation from the weatherman. A Fair Board spokesman said Tuesday morning that the gate at- tendance was down for the three days by about 25 per cent, mainly on the Sunday when rain fell most of the day. In terms of actual receipts, the figure this year is about $9,000 less than last year. In this issue of the Star, we are publishing the results and pho- 'tos of as many of the Fair events as space allows. Results not in this issue will be published in subsequent issues of the Star. Not only did the wet and un- seasonably chilly weather make things tough for spectators, it was ually tough for the small army seve My volunteers who had to work through it all to make sure that "the show goes on."
