Utica plows Utica Farm Equipment dominated the scoring in their game against Goreski's with goals from Ken Lynde, Greg Lepine, Murray Down and lan Down who had two. Assists to these goals were given to Kevin Ibbitson, Kenneth Fraser, Mur- ray Down and Chester Down with three. Neil Woodrow of Goreskis scored the final goal with a pass from Tino Molica. The final score was 5 to 1 with Utica victorious. In the second game of the day, Terry Black opened the scoring for B & L Donuts with an unassisted goal. The Oddfellows tied the score at the end of the first period as Dan McKee was assisted by Brian Pomeroy. In the second period, Dale Lown Goreski 5-1 assisted Brian Pomeroy in the final goal which gave the Odd- fellows the win. During the final game, Emmer- sons Insurance came out strong against the favoured Blackstock Merchants with Greg Daws scor- ing from a Colin Saunders pass. Blackstock tied the game when Billy Pratt scored unassisted. Charlie Dennis' unassisted goal for Emmersons was countered when Ron Short of Blackstock was set up by Tim Cochrane and Dave Dalton. Not to be outdone, Charlie Dennis scored the game' winning goal with assists coming from Colin Saunders and Ritch Johnson. When the last buzzer sounded, Emmersons had upset Blackstock with a score of 3 to 2. Mens Hockey League results Game one was mainly a one sid- ed one in which Sportsland "defeated Dennis Anderson's 5-1. Capitalizing for Sportsland were Rob Evans 2 goals, 2 assists; John Foster 1 goal, 2 assists; Glen Hudson 1 goal, 1 assist; and Doug Brown 1 goal. Other assists going to Dave Bourgeois with 3 and Clarence Stephenson with 2. The lone marker for Anderson's was Bob Beveridge from Denzil Irving and Terry Rose. The second game of the day was a well fought outing in which J & D Carpentry and Blanchard's Supply Co. battled to a 3-3 tie. Scorers for J & D were Ken Lit- tle with 2 goals and Dennis Lycett with the other. Assisting were Terry Flieler, Dave Harrison, Joe Curran, and Mike Adam all with one. Battling for Blanchard's were Dan Carty 2 goals and Wayne Norton one. Helping out were Mark Jobb with 2 assists, Ron Zaparaniuk, Mike Driscoll, Jim Duncan, and Chris Brain, 1 apiece. Game three was a quick paced Novice Ringette starting It has been a long summer for the girls on the Novice Ringette team as they waited impatiently for the new season to begin. This year, for the first time in a long while, the majority of the girls will be of actual Novice age (7 to 9 years) and will be able to compete with confidence in their league. They look forward to a good season under their new coach, Wally Senyk, and manager, Diane Hooker. The team members are: one as Larocque Electric edged out Norton's Home Im- provements 5-3. Leading the way for Laroque were Don MacDonald 2 goals; Dave Mann 1 goal, 2 assists; Bill Bridge 1 goal, 1 assist; Bart Wager 1 goal, 1 assist.
