Father Alfred Grima officiated. The bride is the daughter of Evelyn and David Dove of Oshawa. The groom is the son of Dawna and John Harman of Port Perry. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown. The fitted bodice featured a bateau neckline of Alencon lace that was adorned with pearls and sequins, and long tapered sleeves. The back of the bodice had a heart-shaped back that lead to a bow. The cathedral train featured cut-out detail with illusion effect of pearls and sequins, and a "scalloped hemline. The Maid of Honour was Wendy Dove, sister of the bride. The Bridesmaids were Kelly Hughes; Jodi Tamblyn; Colleen Barry; Dawna Ryan, groom's aunt; Mary-Jean McNamee, cousin of the bride. The Best Man was Mark Phillips of Oshawa. The Ushers were John Harman and Jarett Harman, brothers of the groom; Randy Dove, brother of the bride; Kelly Ryan, groom's uncle; James Parker. The Flower Girl was Ashlee Forestell, cousin of the groom. The Ring Bearer was Brian Dove, nephew of the bride. Following a reception held at Polish National Hall in Oshawa, the couple honeymooned in the Grand Bahamas. The newlyweds now reside in their home in Oshawa. Port Perry Big Apple Fesitval The Port Perry Downtown Merchants are holding their first annual "Thanksgiving Big Apple Festival" this Saturday, October 8th. A busy and productive day en- sued. President Barbara McEachern opened the session with a poem "Speak on these things" followed by prayer. Words of welcome were extended by Lois Daw and Ray Death. Port Perry delivered the Service of Worship, using the 23rd Psalm as their theme. Plans were made for the An- nual Meeting to be held in St. An- drew's Presbyterian Church, Lindsay on Wednesday January 18, 1989. It was suggested that Roll Call could be answered by each group stating its project for the 75th anniversary. An information update on the W.M.S. 75th Anniversary taking place in London, Ontario in May of next year was discussed. It should be a memorable occasion with delegates attending from coast to coast. The quota works out to a minimum of eight ladies from each Presbyterial. It was decided that microfilming the minutes books be our Anniver- sary project. Glenarm ladies are making our Anniversary banner. Let us make this a great celebra- tion. Each group received a copy of the Presbyterial Operating Guidelines for perusal and any proposed changes. Reports to be presented at the Annual Meeting. The suggestion that the 1989 June Rally be held at the Old Stone Church in Beaverton has been held over, pending further information. Christian Women will meet October 6 October's meeting of the Port Perry area Christian Women's Club is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th, 9:30 a.m. at the Lat- cham Centre. The Christian Women's Club is inter-church & non sectarian with 2200 groups across Canada. There is a special feature of current interest, a musical presentation and an out-of-town guest speaker each month, yet there are no membership or dues. The special feature for October is "The Joy of Colours" by Joy Malcolm. Laura Binkley, a talented vocalist, will be bringing the special musical presentation. Mrs. Peggy Onifrichuk, a Brantford homemaker, who is a memorable speaker, will be giv- ing her story as guest speaker.
