Now that the election cam- paign is officially underway, the present council takes on a "lame duck" status, and it is most un- likely that any serious municipal decisions will be made by this council in the two meetings re- maining between now and No- vember 14. The new council will be officially sworn into offfice on December 5. There are over 13,300 eligible voters in Scugog Township, and they will cast their ballots at 39 polls throughout Scugog, four more than 1985. The ses-- sions commence, Monday, Oc- tober 24, 1988 at the Kinsmen Community Centre in Oshawa (corner of MacMillan Dr. and Col- borne St.) and conclude December 5th, for a $20.00 registration fee. This hands on course will pro- vide information about asthma and personalized instruction in relaxation and breathing techni- ques appropriate for the age group.
