He is hailed as one of the best Canadian judges of all time whose professional manner and concise reasons won praise from the huge international ringside. The end results for the Cana- dian showmen were very favourable. Highlights included the State Herd class win by On- tario for the 9th consecutive year. In this same class of ten entries the lineup from Quebec placed se- cond and Alberta's group ranked fourth. Canadian exhibitors won both Champion Female honours. CATHLAND LILAC, the tall, stylish Five-Year-Old, exhibited by John W. Buckley, Lindsay, On- tario; Gerald Coughlin Jr., Peter- borough, Ontario; Kenneth R. Empey Jr., Dorchester, Ontario; Greg L. Wilcom and Charles D. Burrier, Ijamsville, Maryland was the Champion with the im- pressive Four-Year-Old, DU-MA- TI VALIANT BOOTS JEWEL, for Cherown Holsteins and Browndale Farm, Paris, Ontario in Reserve. Hanover Hill Hols- teins, Port Perry was declared Premier Breeder for the sixth consecutive year. Kenneth R. Empey Jr., Dor- chester, Ontario had an excep- tional two days in Madison.
