Bill and Melba McKay visited with Donald and Stella Asling on Fri. evening and on Sat. afternoon entertained Bob and Norine Snod- don of Valentia. Donald and Stella Asling at- tended the theatre in Markham Sun. evening to see "Gorillas in the Mist". They accompanied daughter Dr. Pat Asling who had visited the spot where this movie was made. Among the many lovely gifts the Aslings received on their 50th Anniversary was a coin collection from which the card has been lost. Mr. and Mrs. Watson were overnight guests with - friends in Orangeville. Elmer and Ruth Wilson were dinner guests Sun. evening with Ross and Barbara Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Colden of Sussex N.B. visited Doris Arm- strong for a few days last week. Tom Armstrong returned on Fri. night from a trip to Ohio. On Sun., Marie and Earl Wilson, Floyd and Grace Evans were at the home of Lois and Harry Elford of Sandford to celebrate the birthday of Marie, Grace and Lois' mother, Mrs. W. 0. Simpson of Uxbridge. Beth Catherwood and her mother Ruth Ashton and Aunt Lucille Wagner attended the funeral of a cousin, Mary Syer on Mon., in Bowmanville. Mrs. Barry Page (Dini to her friends) attended a weaving course at Haliburton Campus of Sir Sandford Fleming College for the week-end. Anniversary Services for Epsom-Utica Churches, Nov. 6 at 11:15 will be held at Utica Church. Speaker will be Rev. Nancy Waterman. Special music. A social time will follow the service with sandwiches and finger food for dessert. There is a box at the back of the church for anyone to contribute to the Food Bank. Contents will be donated to Port Perry Food Bank after service each Second Sunday of each month. On Fri., Nov. 18 the church is holding a ham and scallop potato supper from 5 till all are served in Utica Hall. Tickets will be available from members of the Session next week. Advance tickets $7.50 for adults, $3.00 for children under 12. This is a fundraising event for church renovations. Please come and bring a friend. There will be a bazaar the same day starting at 3 p.m. also in the Hall... Please bring in "your Zéhrs Tapes. Choir Practice Thurs., 7:30 at Epsom. Our Nov. U.C.W. will be a Bir- thday Programme for residents at Uxbridge Care Centre who have a Nov. birthday. Congratulations to Epsom School they brought home 10 rib- bons from Central Durham Cross Country meet held at Dagmar. These 8 year old boys and girls won 2nd place finish. Travis VanKessel was awarded a ribbon for being 2nd Place boy overall.
