During the night of September 26th - 27th, Bell experienced seven separate incidents of damage in the Port Perry -- Oshawa area. During the evening of Thurs- day, September 29th the company once again experienced substan- tial damage. This time 3,200 pairs of wires were cut in the Oshawa area. Four hundred of these were in the Bloor - Harmony Road area. Since the beginning of July there have been a total of twenty- five acts of vandalism in the Oshawa - Port Perry - Lindsay area. Each one of the incidents had the potential to isolate people from access to the essential ser- vices of Ambulance, Fire and Police. The total damage to date is about $75,000. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the people responsi- ble. You will never be asked for your name or have to go to Court.
