Remember, there are a great many countries where residents are not allowed the privilege of voting and it is not just a privilege and a right .. but a duty! This is one way citizens can take an active part in the pro- cess of decision making which af- fects the community in which they live and work. It has been said .. that bad public officials are elected by good citizens who don't vote! Hallowe'en Comment Nice weather brought all kinds of fearsome wee folks out Hallowe'en night with cries of "Trick or Treat". Without excep- tion they were polite and well behaved, and every single one left with a thank you. Trust the kids had a great time! A night of fun, excitement, magic and mystery, for the youngsters! Hope to see them next year! After the kids were tucked in their beds .. a chauffered limousine pulled up to the door .: and out stepped a most fascinating couple .. a tall, slim, elegant lady with a delightful smile wearing a beautiful evening gown complete with a luxurious mink fur slung around her shoulders. She was wearing an at- tractive wig, expensive jewellery, hil -"pétféctly made up, etc. Her escort was indeed interesting as a clown. We offered them refreshments but they said they had to make a few more calls and it was getting late. They remain a deep mystery - BUT - we felt it is most enjoyable to see grown ups getting such a "bang" out of Hallowe'en! Caesarea Euchre Results On Wed. evening at the Caesarea Centre, Grace Short held the high score with a great 91. Second winner, Eva Mac- Donald, came in close behind with an 88. The consolation prize was won by 'Teresa Berker with 51. The super lunch was supplied by the John Moore family! Re - the Bazaar coming up on Nov. 19. The committee will glad- ly accept donations .. anything along the line of home baking, handmade items, white elephant, etc. They may be dropped off at the Centre on Friday, Nov. 18, bet- ween the hours of 7 to 9 p.m. Nestleton Presbyterian Church Service was held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fred Swann in the pulpit. Joyce Taylor was the fine organist. Psalm 2 was read responsively and Scripture taken from Ephesians 6: 10-20. A Remembrance Day period of silence was observed and prayers offered for Peace. The sermon theme was "Remembrance Day". Rev. F. Swann followed with three headings - 1. On Sunday, Lawrence and Gwen and daughter Gail Malcolm of Port Perry, attended the Langmaid - Brooks reunion held at Ebenezer Church. The Family Country Hoedown held on Friday evening, Nov. 4, in Nestleton Community Centre .. sponsored by the Nestleton United Church, was a great success. The music was excellent, food delicious, and a fine evening of fellowship! It is hoped we might have more of these enjoyable events in the future!
