__ ----. Rob Wearing Trust manager bids fond adieu Saying he will "miss the com- munity and its people", Rob Wear- ing bid farewell last Friday after- noon to his staff and customers, to commence a job as manager of a new branch of the National Bank in Whitby. Mr. Wearing has been the branch manager of Standard Trust for the past four and a half years, coming to Port Perry from head office in July 1984. In an interview with the Star last week, Mr. Wearing said that dur- ing his stay here he has noticed an enormous change in Port Perry. "The people in this community are very progressive, and have a true sense of community that is not * found elsewhere", he said. One of his main regrets is hav- ing to leave his staff, who he says are the best ple he has ever worked with. "We couldn't have at- tained our goals without them, and I will miss them," he said. In reference to the goals, Mr. Wearing said Standard Trust had given him 5 years to attain a pre- determined level, and they were able to achieve that goal profitably in under the prescribed time. While in Port Perry Mr. Wear- ing became very involved in the Scugog Chamber of Commerce, and was to have moved into the President's chair this January. He said he felt badly not being able to fulfill his obligations to the C of C, but has promised he will help with this summers Festival Days. Rob lives in Whitby with his wife Jeri-Lynn and 3 1/2 month old daughter Joanna, so his new job with the National Bank will be close to home. At present no manager has been named to take over the position in Port Perry, but Mr. Wearing ex- pects there will be a new person appointed before Christmas.
