Brooklin 655-4851 Spencer's Feed Service Ltd. Greenbafk . 985-3371 by Oliver Delhaise As Chris said last week, these last few days before Christmas are very hectic; the teachers want us to finish our minor assignments before the holidays, so we can work on the major pro- jects during the break. And with this extra push on school work, there has been little time for any major school events not directly related to Christmas and the com- ing holiday. As always, the music depart- ment at P.P.H.S. has its hands full at this time of year, handling both Citrus distribution and Christmas Concerts. We had A Child's Christmas in Port Perry which, as always was a huge suc- cess, allowing the Grade 9 Con- cert Band to show their capabili- ty. And Jazzmerize which played in front of the Post Office on Saturday. But there are still many performances in the near future for the music department: Monday of this week, the Junior Stage Band will travel to Peter- borough and Wednesday night is the big Concert Chris mentioned last week. The fun will begin at 7:30 and continue for about an hour. Admission is free, but dona- tions will be accepted, so come on out and start your Christmas on a good note. There will also be music at the Christmas assembly. I have no idea what will happen in this assembly; like all other Grade PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, December 13, 1968 -- 33 Xmas crunch at PPHS 13's, I will have to wait until Thursday night to find out at the assembly meeting at the Wilburs. In the spirit of Christmas, Port Perry High is busy supporting needy causes: a local chapter of Amnesty International has been started at the school, which will be selling candy canes at 50 cents each to help free persecuted peo- ple from confinement. In the same vein, nonperishable or canned food is being collected for Operation Scugog; any donations are welcome. And as always this time of year, some of our teachers are busy making wooden Rocking w Horses for the Children's Aid Society to distribute as Christmas presents. A special thank you to all people going out of their way to make this Christmas more en- joyable for everyone. Please help them help the community. Enjoy these holidays, Rebels, and remember -- there will be an early dismissal on Friday. But don't forget, with these holidays over, exams will be just around the corner. Spend some time preparing, especially U.B. students who need these marks for University acceptance. Have a safe Christmas Holiday ; see you again in 89.
