All those present played an excellent three periods as they proved to have a lot of stamina and were still matching the Newcastle team play for play at the end of the third period with on- ly two extra players left on the bench. After the ice was cleared after the first period, Port Perry returned to the game minus two of their players. Adam Cummings and Kevin Buscher both suffered Jr. B. (From page 23) Bill. . However, Port continued to press hard. About the half way point of the game Port Perry suffered another set back as Noel Lovering was handed a misconduct and had to leave the ice leaving the team without a goalie. The game was delayed for ten minutes as Paul Kett suited up to stand between the pipes. As the game resumed, Port Perry was now down to two players on the bench. When the final buzzer sounded Port Perry had scored two goals to Newcastles four. One marker was scored by Mare Haina, who scored on a re- bound which popped out in front of the net, Haina picked up the puck quickly shooting it into the open side of the net. Port's other goal came off the stick of Ethan Lavereau who managed some fancy stick handling behind the net to elude the opposition. Lavereau carried the puck to the front of the goalie to pop it nicely into the net. Port Perry played a strong game, but luck just wasn't with the team for this night. Port's next game is in Stouffville. Novice H.L.
