They staged a comeback, and playing perhaps their best hockey this season over a span of 15 min: utes, they completely tied up the Dukes and po, in four goals to come away with a 6-5 victory. To paraphrase an ad seen on TV these days, they won the game the old-fashioned way: they worked like hell for it. The Dukes had made it 5-2 at 4:56 of the third on a breakaway. But four minutes later, Dean Smethhurst fed a pass to Troy Foster at the Duke line, he moved in quickly and snapped a wrist shot past Al Biggs. It was 5-3. Exactly two minutes, the gap was narrowed to one goal as Brad Menzies and Chris Arsenault worked hard to keep the puck in the Duke zone and Steve Fountain fought off a check from a scram- Die front to score on the short side. At 15:41, more hard work aid | ot as Thane Bilis ond Jot itchett managed to puc in the Duke zone, and this time it was Len Giacalone who pulled the trigger from 20 feet out, slapping it past a startled Biggs. The MoJacks obviously were in no mood to settle for a tie in this one, and with 1:46 left, the line of Troy Foster, Bill Lawren- son and Dean Smethurst buzzed around Al Biggs and when the uck came free on the stick of methurst in the slot, he made no mistake at all hitting the back of the twine with a wrist shot. The players kept the sticks down and there was almost no pushing and shoving after the whistle. The Dukes opened a 2-0 lead in the first that stood until the fi- nal minute when Brad Menzies scored on a set-up from linemates John Harman and Warren Geer. Aaron Vens of the Dukes counted two more in the second with MoJack captain Thane Ellis lying to make it 4-2 after forty minites. And the third period belonged to the MoJacks completely. Jeff Lynch got the win for the MoJacks in the nets, his second in as many starts as he faced 31 shots Friday night in Trenton as Port Perry doubled the Golden Hawks 4-2. The MoJacks had a great chance to make it a clean sweep weekend Saturday night when they paid a visit to the new Lindsay ports Complex for a game with the struggling Muskies. But the Muskies were ready for this one, and taking advantage of MoJack penalties, they hit for six power play goals en route to an 8-6 victory. Steve Fountain may have had his best game ever in a MoJack uniform Sunday against the Dukes. He was all over the ice, especially in the third period, took one innocent tripping penalty, scored a big goal and had two or three other good chances. The netminding tandem of Jeff Lynch and Brad Bricknell has 'played a big role in the MoJacks resurgence. A couple of weeks ago when Lynch was struggling a bit, Bricknell had some big victories. On Saturday against Lindsay, Bricknell had an off night, but Lynch was solid in the wins over Trenton and Wellington. The loss Saturday night was just the second in 14 games for the MoJacks.
