On Saturday evening the home of Bill and Melba McKay was brimming over with fun and laughter as the Social Club spent an evening with visiting, games and food. Marydale Tapscott was away for two days at a bonspiel at Welland. Maurice and Marydale Tapscott had all their family home on Sunday. Marie and Earl Wilson are home from Florida. Marlene and Ian Archibald and family were Sunday dinner guests. Stella Asling has been im- mobilized by Lumbago. Kim Lyons P.H.N. for this area visited some classrooms to discuss the importance of good personal hygiene. The Epsom children enjoyed a professional puppetry presenta- tion on Feb. 15. Tom Vandenberg, who has worked with Fraggles and the Muppets, thrilled his au- - dience with several Aespos Fables which included extraor- dinary sound and lighting effects. Felicity Nelson of John Howard Society spoke to grade 3 & 4 children on Feb. 22 on shoplifting. Her emphasis was on prevention. She will return March 1 to discuss vandalism. Congratulations to Anna Evans who will represent Epsom P.S. in Oral Language Festival at Joseph Gould P.S. on March 7. Anna's speech is about her calf. On Feb. 26 Christie Mahlberg and Tanya Wilson will be com- peting at the Port Perry Lyons Public Speaking Contest. The March meeting of the Social Club will be held April 1. This will be a pie social and talent evening at 8 p.m. Location to be announced later. Delicious pies baked by the U.C.W. Come and bring your best act. Everyone in the community will be welcome to take part. Ask any Brownie and she'll tell you--it takes a lot of time and effort to earn a Golden Ladder. The award signifies that the girl who receives it has learned much about helping others and becoming a good citi- zen. It is the second step to receiving the prestig- ious Golden Hand.
