Snowpeople sprout up everywhere L § ad © wb. 2 ey » : Sonya Wiseman, 7, and her brother Michael, 6, started out building a snowfort in front of their house on Heath Cres. with help from neighbour Erin Lally, 11. Somewhere along the way the trio of young builders got carried away and the fort was transformed into a bride and groom--with a long bridal train and lengthy talls! The happy newlyweds were built complete with leftover Valentine flowers and wedding day finery. © With the permission of The Rodgers and Hammerstein Theatre Library SOCIETY Music by: RICHARD RODCIRNS Lyrics by: OSCAR HAMMIRSTEN II HOWARD LINDSAY . PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, March 7, 1989 -- 39 Kids rejoice at Ma Nature's packing snow Finally, the kids of Scugog Township rejoiced, there's packing snow! It's been one heckuva drought this winter as far as snow is con- cerned, so when Mother Nature dumped a whole pile of wet white stuff in our backyards, the children of this area took advantage of it and built snowmen (and women!) in every spare space they could find. Just a quick drive through the streets of Port Perry recently re- vealed the creative talents of a number of kids. There were big snowmen, little tiny snow babics--some plain, others decorated with carrots and brooms and hats and scarves--you name it and the snow folks worc it. For fun, the Star sent a camera to find as many snow people as possible in one hour--and here's a sample of what the photographer came up with, Hopefully the weather will stay cold enough so Frosty and his rcl- atives will be hanging around for All this Oktoberfesting showman needs Is a stein of (root) beer to com- plete his outfit. TT EA nr This snowman looks nice and warm, his round head topped with a cozy toque, and his plump neck wrapped snugly with a scarf. 985-0171 Tony's Domestic Refrigeration Service mE BEE * Weekend & Evening Service * Written Estimate & Warranty * Licenced Serviceman * Flat Rate Service Call (includes labour) * Repairs to All Makes
