CU -- T_T 28 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, April 4, 1989 Frank Realty wins Bantam HL - Swamp ran up against a red hot Frank team that has peaked at the right time of the year. Eric Grosvenor had a big game coming up with a hat trick and an assist. Frank jumped into the lead with three goals; in the first period. Ken Smart, Eric Grosvenor and Cole Parry on a nice solo effort down the right wing, holding off a defender to score provided the scoring. Swamp scored their first in the se- cond period with Ryan Picard banging home a rebound infront of the net with the goalie down. Frank came right back on a nice play, a two on one, Cole Parry drew the defender over then passed to Ross Stainton who slipped the puck behind the goalie. Eric Grosvenor added Printers Frank's fifth goal when he came in on the wing and blasted a shot to the top corner. The Swamp team became frustrated at this point causing the play to become rough, both teams took penalties with five players being tossed out for the remainder of the game. Three goals a piece were scored in the last six minutes of the game. Heath Hudson, Ryan Picard and Herb Hatch scoring for Swamp and Gary Stevens, Chris Cooper and Scott Airey scoring for Frank. Captain Eric Grosvenor ac- cepted the Championship trophy for Frank Realty, the third title in three years. All the players and coaches received trophies from minor hockey. double Davids for title Port Perry Printing won the " championship of the Novice H.L. defeating Davids 4-2. Printing jumped into a quick 3-0 lead on goals by Paul Shrigley, Jonathan Reed, and Jonathan Froats. Davids fought back to close the gap to one goal on goals by Jay - Fletcher and Scott Harper. The score remained 3-2 until half way through the 3rd period when Chris Jamieson scored the final goal of the game to give printing the IF YOUR AD victory. Jonathon Reed pitched in with 3 assists for Printing and Aaron Levy chipped in with 2. Paul Shrigley and Jamie Strickert each picked up one assist for Prin- ting. Jay Fletcher and Glen McCready each picked up one assist for Davids. Both teams deserve credit for a well played game as they often had the crowd on their feet cheering.
