April 5th at the home of Dorothy Lee, Nestleton, with 11 members and 5 guests present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The Bank balance was recorded. Thank you notes were read from Big Brothers, Timmys Snowarama, Childrens Wish Foundation, and Port Perry Com- munity Hospital for donations received from the Court. Letters wereread from the E.O.F.A. Ex- ecutive regarding the Convention to be held on April 28 & 29th at the Rock Haven Hotel in Peter- borough. There was a letter from the Hospital Auxiliary Spring Fair. It was decided: to send a donation. The banquet for Saturday, April 8th was discussed...for the Blackstock Curling Club, and - plans made, Bi There was a lengthy discussion on the upcoming Smorgasbord dinner to be held on April 21st at There will be ham, turkey, beef, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, salads, chili, meatballs, lasagna, and much, much more, as well as a variety of desserts. Tickets are now available by calling 986-5118 or 986-4854. Tickets are also available on the quilt draw to be held in November at the annual Bazaar. It was decided to donate $200.00 to the Eastern Ontario Provincial Assembly special project fund. This fund is to help purchase a special piece of equipment for the Princess Margaret Hospital. A. Spring Serenade A Success ° A fine attendance was on hand for the "'special" musical even- ing...held in Nestleton Communi- ty Centre on Friday evening last...with everyone in the mood for a pleasurable event! All enter- tainers were excellent... talented people with plenty of rhythm- melody-harmony - and they pro- duced quality music and variety plus! To me - music gives soul - some musicians have so much feeling...and the heart of a song is not its sound but its feeling or meaning! The Enterprising emcee Rick MacKenzie 'amused' the au- dience...he was a 'knock-out' with his wit and humour...always ready for another joke or story! To top off the evening doughnuts and coffee, tea or pop was available...and the entertainers usy wi a bit . Lawrence Malcolm delighted all by playing his piano...which he and Gwen had purchased in Florida. He played old favourites and jazzed one up . too.
