It will be a great hardship especially for those without transportation not to have the services here. So much for progress. On Sunday, bride-to-be, Sandy Little accompanied by her mother Nora Little enjoyed attending the Bridal Show held in Lindsay. George Bryant was guest of honour for a birthday party celebrating his 50th birthday. Weekend guests were Dwayne Bryant of Seaforth and Julie Bryant of Ottawa. Esther Kelly acted as capable emcee for both Thursday and Friday. The judges had a tough time deciding on the winners but finally award- ed Honourable Mention for Best Supporting Actor to Matt Massie; Best Supporting Actor went to Rob Keast. Jenny MacGregor won Best Supporting Actress. Bryan Green won Best Actor with Best Actress awards going to Shiane Holbik. "A Memo from Jupiter" presented by the Tigers was deemed best play of the even- ing over "If Girls Asked Boys for Dates" by the Alikats and "A Three Phone Calls" by the Ookpiks. The local floor hockey Senior and Intermediate Teams conclud- ed their season by competing in a tournament held on Friday even- ing and Saturday at Whitby. On Thursday evening local Blackstock Agricultural Society President David and Kathleen Petrie, Homecraft President Kathy Hill, Jean Mahaffy, Moira Fallis, Eleanor Werry, Marilyn Green, Gerald and Joyce Kelly at- tended the District 4 Spring Workshop at Lindsay. This was a very worthwhile evening to assist in the planning of the annual Blackstock Fair which will be held on Saturday August 26 this year. The Blackstock Modern Square Dance group held their annual end of season potluck supper on Thursday night. Dancing and games filled the evening with fun and fellowship led by callers Glen . - and Carolyn Dowson. All agreed that it had been a wonderful year and wished that more would share the activity with the group. Watch next September for the start of beginner classes and get in on the fun.
