They were given a 3 hour tour of the city of Ottawa and many places of interest. A cruise on the Rideau Canal, some went to the Parlimerit Buildings while others went shopping. They also visited the Lanark Kitten Mills. A good trip but no tulips. On May 1st, nine year old An- ~__ drea Smith who attends R.H. cor- nish School won a Gold Medal for placing 1st in Vault at the Durham Gymnastic finals held in Ajax. Congratulations Andrea. Ray and Betty Colins are busy at their house looking after their new son John Douglas who was born March 31st. This is a little brother for Gordon. Happy birthday to Jayme Can- non and Kandice Brooks who both had birthdays May 8th. If you see Norma Robinson in the Post Of- fice down town on Wed. wish her a happy birthday. Junior Chief During National Police Week, May 15th to 20th, all Durham Regional residents 7 to 13 years of age are eligible to enter a draw to become Junior Police Chief for a day. Just pick up the brochure containing ten questions and the entry form at any Durham Regional Police Station. Answers to the questions can be found in the brochure and at the Police Week display at the Oshawa Cen- tre. The forms will be available as of Monday, May 8th: The entries may be returned to the police station or given to the officer at the Durham Regional Police display at the Oshawa Centre.
