Councillor is determined to open pool on schedule Councillor Alan Goreski is determined that the municipal pool will open on time this year, even if it costs council as much as $10,000. After last summer's major repairs, which prevented the pool from opening until July, the structure has suffered from extensive paint peeling over the winter. Councillor Goreski report- ed to council that large pieces of paint are coming off the bottom of the pool. Without repairing this problem, the Public Health Inspector, Brad Clark will not allow the pool to be opened . To make the pool usable will require a contractor to sand or water-blasting the sur- face to remove all the remain- ing paint. This will help to score the surface and provide the proper texture for the paint toadhere to. It will require two coats of Annual Missions weekend Port Perry Baptist Church is holding its 15th Annual Missions Conference next week, May 24 to May 28. : The key note speaker will be Rev.
