PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, June 13, 1989 -- 33 Well it's that time of year again girls! Dust off those rackets, retrieve your tennis balls from rover and see if those hips will still slide into your whites. Bite the bullet and invest in a new pair of court sneakers so that you can work off a little of that 'winter spread," make new friends - renew old acquaintances and have a lot of fun in the process. Ladies League participants get together every Wednesday morn- ing from 10- 12 a.m. at the "Port's Courts." There's lots of "shop talk" (I'm referring to who bought what shopping in the last week!) and kibbutzing around and of course some good games of tennis for all levels of players. There is no discrimination of too young or too old, too much a beginner or too advanced a player. We are all out here to learn how to play better, to exer- cise and stay in shape but mostly to have a fun and relaxing time with a great bunch of gals. -- NOTICE -- + 4 Lots of funin $(. tennis league In previous years this group took on a more competitive role and travelled to Lindsay & Peter- borough to play against their ladies league group. The format changed last year to a 'stay at home" league with good solid ten- nis matches. Throughout the spring, summer & early fall com- bined with fun social get- togethers including a pool party, patio luncheons and a fun singles tournament with:/lunch out following. The league is a relatively small, informal and friendly group numbering 10 - 15 at present. I would like to see it expand a bit more and hopefully we can entice you to come out & see what's go- ing on. You know where you can find us now - every Wednesday morning. So drop by & pay us a visit, or give me a call at home for more information at 852-9358.
