And what's more, many of the activities are free! At 10 a.m. Thursday July 13 the midway opens with plenty of rides, games and treats from Crown Amusements. The mid- way will be set up on the old are- na pad and will carry on until Saturday. A pre-teen dance for kids ages eight to 10 will be held Thurs- day from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Disc jockey Todd Soomre will supply the sounds in the Teen Tent, north of the Latcham Centre. Admissionisonly $2. ~ Todd will continue with the tunes at the tent during a Teen Dance for ages 13 to 18 from 8 p.m.tollp.m. And don't forget to take the kids to the Opening Ceremonies at the gazebo in Palmer Park, where bangers on a bun and pop will be handed out free. Get the children out of bed early Friday morning, so they can enjoy (or even take part in!) the YMCA Kiddies Parade at 9 a.m. It begins at the 'Y' and ends at the gazebo, From the parade, take your young children (ages one to sev- en) over to the Teen Tent to en- joy the Teddy Bear Picnic fea- turing Puffy The Magical Clown. Entertainment, drinks and goodie bags are all free! The teenagers will apprec- tiate the Teen Tent from noon on when it becomes. a place to enjoy a pop, munch on some chips and hang out with friends.
