An exciting party was given by her parents, David and Regenia Walker, in her honour, The guest list included - Deanna Latreille of Port Perry, Ryanne O'Neil of Scarborough, Tricia Haertel, Doreen Rush and Bernice Bryans all of Scugog Point. Grand- parents, Bert and Jean Hill of Whitby, and brother Kyle. After all arrived, many games were played. Avril opened her lovely gifts and thanked all. The afternoon was filled with delightful boatrides and plenty of swimming. A delicious supper was served along with birthday cake and ice cream. A good day was had by all! Warmest wishes go out from this area to Avril, for a great year! Trip Enjoyed Henry and Effa Stainton of " Williams Point, have recently returned from a most interesting trip, along with good friends from Tyrone- They were away travell- ing approximately three weeks, and toured Austria, a beautiful country with a lovely climate. They had excellent accomoda- tions and good meals in the Hotels where the foursome stayed! Then PAUL VAN CAMP Chartered Accountant 52 Water St. 9885-9788 Port Perry on to Germany for a few days where the beauty of that country really impressed them, and food and accomodations were most satisfying as well! This was a DeNure Tour and proved to be delightful in every way! Nestleton Women's Institute Outing As a summer outing, Nestleton Women's Institute went to Cullen Gardens at Whitby, for their Ju- ly meeting. Several visitors were also in attendance, and enjoyed the Garden Gate Restaurant and the tour of the Gardens. On the way around, the Outdoor Valley Stage was the setting for a Melodrama, "The Scoundrels Love" with six young actors and actresses presenting the play. After a visit to the souvenir store, everyone was happy to have had the opportunity of viewing the thousands of beautiful flowers at - this popular Cullen Garden display. convener of Citizenship and Legislation, Mrs. Rika Wygerde was thanked for plann- ing this interesting trip. This was the Burrage-Waller (Norma's fami- ly) picnic. Relatives were present Rushford and club treasurer from Brantford, Corbyville, Scar- borough, Paris and local points. A tempting barbecue was en- joyed, and an auction sale of in- terest to cover the expenses of the "fun" day! A great family get- together! A once-a-year event! The bride is the daughter of Robert and Patricia Rankin and the groom is the son of Peter and Joanne Welles of Barrie. Angela DeGray of Connecticut, friend of the bride was maid of honour.
