(see story) September starton for Carnegie Street plaza Construction on a new com- mercial plaza at the corner of Carnegie Street and Highway 7A in Port Perry is expected to get underway this September. Jamie Taylor of Port Perry, who is developing the property, said last week plans call for a plaza of just over 9,000 square feet with seven stores. It will be side and rear yard reductions, and if they are approved by the Committee of Adjustment, he expects to start construction September 1 and be complete in about four months. The main entrance into the plaza will be via Highway 7A lined up with Water Street to take advantage of the traffic signals at that intersection. There are plans for a sec- ond entrance onto the property via Carnegie Street. The property has three. small houses on it and these houses are now in the process of being removed.
