Shooting a film Port Perry is on the Road to Avonlea Port Pery turned into Holly- wood North last week . Actors and crews were in town to film the Anne of Green Gables sequel Road to Avonlea. Traffic was snarled at the cor- ner of Lilla and Queen Sts. while three Durham Region po- lice constables stopped vehicles in all directions so crews could film segments at the Town Hall. One character not present for the filming was Anne. In this se- ries, Apne has left for Boston and is not featured at all. The 13-part series is set in the early 1900s and actors strolled around town in period costumes. Mothers, whose children were acting as extras in the film said the kids enjoyed 8rescing in the period costumes an looked forward to seeing what costume they would wear next. The crew has also been film- ing parts of the sequel in neigh- boring Uxbridge Township. Road to Avonlea will hit the airwaves this fall on CBC and the Disney channel. Well established actor Allan Stevenson has performed in many plays and commerclals. He was in Port Perry last week for the filming of Road to Avonlea.
