The Intermediate Division wrapped up their season with a tournament. From start to finish the day was filled with excitement and lots of action. Maltheb Farms defeated Turner's Green Giant. Asselstines over Port Perry Kinsmen, and Blackstock Lioness over Lishman. The best plus and minus advancing on byes to Championship and Consolation. Port Perry Kinsmen and Lishman's battled it out for con- solation, but the Kinsmen were too dominating to be touched. Maltheb Farms and Asselstine's squared off for the final game. Big V 1 Willy & Son 0 It was a great game between the two teams as neither one of them were about to give up. The goalies had their work cut out for them with time running out. Rea Baxter finally scored a goal for Big V to win the game 1-0. I.G.A. 3 Ridge North Realty 0 I.G.A. really came on strong with putting pressure on Ridge North Realty. Greg Hunter, Wes- ly Langmaid and Mathew Robert- son scored the goals for 1.G.A.. Both goalies gave great efforts in their games. Rotary 1 Sportsland 0 This was another close game all the way. Sportsland playing short-handed put up a good fight before the Rotary Club came out on top with the only goal of the game. Scugog Lumber 5 Nuts About Chocolate 0 Scugog Lumber really had the puwer on nign tnis week with a strong lead and hanging on to it. The goalies for Nuts About Choc. really had their work cut out for them as Scugog Lumber wasn't about to give up. The goals for Scugog Lumber were scored by Andrew, Joseph and David Halward. Scugog Moving & Storage 3 Don Forder Insurance 0 Well it was a night for Michael's tonight. Scugog Moving & Storage came out on top as Michael: Asselstine's grabbed a 3 run lead in the first inning. Maltheb not ready to say die, came back in the next four innings, pulling ahead to a 13-3 lead going into the last inning. Asselstines hanging really tough, came back to capture the lead 15-13 but leaving Maltheb with last bat Maltheb Farms managing to get their 3 runs in winning 16-15. I think rather than naming outstanding individual players for the game, all players, coaches and parents should be con- gratulated for filling this season with lots of excitement, action and good sportsmanship. We hope :0 see you all next season. Mini Soccer Koury, Michael Wiseman and Michael Systma scored the only three goals of the night. Don Forder Ins. never gave up without a fight and kept on coming back for more but time ran out with a 3-0 score. August 16 Rotary Club 2 Don Forder Insurance 1 Rotary Club had another close one with Don Forder keeping close behind. The goalies had their work cut out for them with great saves kept the game a tight score. Zac Fis scored both goals for Rotary Club and Mike, last name unknown, scored the single goal for Don Forder Ins.. Scugog Moving & Storage 2 I.G.AA. 1 We've had alot of great soccer so far this year and the players are not giving up. The action just kept on going with goalies making the game really exciting as they made saves to keep their teams in the game. Dane Gray and Michael Systma scored a goal each for Scugog Moving & Storage and Wesley Langmaid - scored for 1.G.A.. Big V1 Nuts About Chocolate 0 There was no way out for Nuts About Choc.. Big V was all over Nuts like chocolate coating on candies. They kept on coming on strong not even giving Nuts About Chocolate a chance. Goals scored by Mathew Breen scoring 3, Mathew Smart scoring 2 and Steven Darcy scoring the other 2. Win #11 for Homestead Homestead Furniture Mosquito Girls Soccer team racked up win number eleven last Thursday by beating Ajax Optimist 5-1. The gals started slowly and let Ajax jump out into a 1-0 lead.
