SATURDAY, SEPT. 16th & 23rd -- TYKES ('83-'84) 10:30 AM, ADVANCED TYKES (1982) 11:30 AM (Tykes & Advanced Tykes will receive Power Skating during Christmas Break) -- MINOR HOCKEY STARTS NEXT WEEK -- The 1989/90 Season for Port Perry Minor Hockey gets underway next week with the con- ducting of power skating clinics at the Scugog Arena. To date, 373 players are registered for the season, and an estimated 100 more are expected to do so. In order to avoid lineups at the arena once the Power Skating begins, parents and players are urged to fill out the registration forms ahead of time and bring them to Pineridge Sports or Sportsland. Blank forms are available at both sport stores. Fees are as follows: One Player -- $155; Two Players in a family -- $260; Three or More Players -- $365; Tykes (born in 1982, 1983, and 1984) -- $105. each. PARENTS and PLAYERS please remember ... Atom Division Playoffs Playoffs began last week in the Atom Division of the houseleague soccer. The purpose of the playoffs is to determine who plays who on Cup Day. They say playoffs are a new season and the Atom Division pro- ved it to be true. Taylor Ford Mercury undefeated in regular season play took their first loss at the hands of Bruton's I.D.A. by a score of 4-1. Leading the charge for Bruton's was Andrew Martin with a hat-trick and the single go- ing to Aaron Stiller. Chris Arnold tallied the lone goal for Taylor Ford Mercury. In the other game Dennis Anderson who only won one game all season came out on top by a score of 3-2 over Taylor Petro Canada. Jonathan Reed with two and Gavin Baxter with one paced Dennis Anderson to the win. Troy Martin and Matt Brown were the scorers for Taylor Petro Canada. Mosquito Division (Boys) Playoffs The three Port Perry teams were in action at Uxbridge play- ing in the Mosquito boys playoffs. It was a bad night for two of the teams as they bowed out of the playoffs after losses. Port Perry Rent & Save were humbled 5-0 by a strong Stouff- ville team. Unfortunately for the other two Port. This will prepare them for the Junior Plowing competi- tions to be held August 30 at the Wilcox Farm near Greenbank. The organizers of the coaching day express their thanks to all those who helped out.
