Manager of Centennial Lanes, Carol Anthony deserves a great deal of the credit getting the league started. The Executive for the 1989-1990 season are: Program Director and Tournament Director: Bev Dawson and Rick Evans, Pee Wee Secretary: Dianne Bryars, Bantam Secretary: Ingrid Nor- wick, Junior/Senior Secretary: Kathy Tromans, Press Secretary: Nancy Anger. The Executive would like to thank all the kids and parents who turned out on the 23rd and for the patience shown by all. Being the opening day, total confusion abounded and the leagues were ~~ running behind. Thagks to all the parents who helped scorekeep and coach. There will not be any bowling on October 7th as it is Thanksgiv- ing weekend. On Sunday October 15 we will be holding our first tournament called the **Buddy Tournament." Times for bowling will be 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.. Please arrive earlier to register. For this Tour- nament the YBC bowler brings a non YBC member and they each will bowl 1 ', games. There will be badges awarded to the YBC bowler and certificates awarded to their 'buddy.' The team, assembled by head coach Bryce Jones, appears to be well balanced and possesses a lot of potential. It looks like they have many more wins ahead of them this season in representing our community. Port Perry's first win of the season came at the expense of Ajax. What looked to be a one sid- ed game in the early going with Port jumping into a quick lead, settled down to be a more even match up. After a scoreless first period, Uxbridge's lone goal came late in the second period. Port Perry got on the board midway through the third period and then after a lot of hard work and determination, got the go-ahead goal late in the game.
