Emmerson Insurance 8 Canadian Tire 8 On Wednesday the 18th Em- merson and Canadian Tire got in- to a real shoot-out with neither of the goaltenders looking very sharp. The scoring for both sides was a real team effort. At the end of the first, the score was tied at one a piece with both Ross Stainton and Todd Taylor going in on the wing, faking a shot, then planting one up high. In the second, Emmerson added five more to Canadian Tire's three. Scoring for Emmerson were: Scott MacLennan with 2, Don Hughes, Steve Stiles and Daryl Alexander with singles and for Canadian Tire were Craig Leask, Atom HL 'I'ripp 6 Whitby Auto Wreckers 4 This game got off to a quick start with 6 goals scored in the first 62 minutes of the first period. Tripp was the beneficiary of this outburst with 4 of the goals. Whitby never quit and were down by only 1 goal with only 1% minutes left in the game before Tripp scored again to ice the game. Matt McClelland was the big shooter for Tripp with 5 goals while Jay Fletcher also scored once and picked up an assist. Jeff Whitfield also pitched in with an assist for Tripp. Ryan Puckrin replied twice for Whitby with single markers going to Phil Don- Chris Cooper and Todd Taylor all with singles. The third period saw Canadian Tire score four times in a row and Emmerson not able to tie it up un- til the four minute mark with Daryl Alexander letting go a shot from the slot for his second goal of the night. Vince Criscione got the other marker for Emmerson and Brad Budge, Adam Johnson, Chris Cooper and Kevin Pearce added singles for Canadian Tire. 1.G.A. 3 Swamp Auto 2 On Saturday morning we saw a tightly contested game with tempers getting the best of some players in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Both Rob Ashton and Derek hockey nelly and Jeff Gunn. Matt Bengal chipped in with 1 assist while Jeff Gunn added 2 assists.
