(see story for [Bis detalls) PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, October 24, 1989 -- 5 Clerk's office moved to help relieve congestion in municipal building Scugog Township municipal offices, at 181 Perry Street, are undergoing some changes fol- lowing the move of Administra- tor Earl Cuddie and his staff. Mr. Cuddie; secretaries Kim Coates and Diane Knutson; re- ceptionist Wendy Bourgeois, and Bylaw Enforcement Officer Bill Henshall have been moved from the congested municipal offices to the yellow house at 208 North Street. - Mr. Cuddie told the Star, due to the uncertainty of when a new municipal office will be built, the move was necessary. He said that council is still un- decided on the best location, and when it would be possible to begin the project. The house at 208 North Street is owned by the munici- pality, and although there was some consideration given to renting a portable office (school style), it was decided to utilize the building they owned. Following extensive renova- tions, the staff moved into the facility on Monday, October 16. They will occupy the entire low- er floor, although Mr. Cuddie speculated there may be a need to expand to the upper floor sometime in the future. The upper floor is currently occupied by the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Durham Region and the Crises Centre. Entry to the Administrator Office is from the entrance fronting on North Street. It is expected to be posted with signsin the near future. All business concerned with planning, committee of adjust- ment or bylaw matters will be handled from the Clerk's office on North Street, while matters pertaining to treasury, build- ing and roads will continue to be addressed from the present municipal office on Perry St. Mayor Howard Hall's office will remain at its present loca- tion and the administrators former office will become the new office of Treasurer Kath- leen Harper. Mr. Cuddie concluded that there will be some inefficiency from working out of two loca- tions, but there really is no al- ternative until a new municipal building can be built.
