Port took control of the game from the opening whistle and maintained it - throughout. The girls who played defence in this game made the job much easier for our goaltender. Way to work girls. Scorers for the day were Shan- non Fox 2 goals, 1 assist; Amy Parliament 2 goals; Megan Marlow 3 goals; Lyndsay Dutkewich 2 goals, 2 assists; Karen Kett 2 assists; Tanya Towns and Michelle Fitzpatrick 1 assist each. Special thanks go to Mr. Kett for filling in on the bench for this period. Vince Criscione had a big - game for Emmerson, picking up two goals and two assists. The first period featured end-to- end rushes and both goaltenders, Mike Tripp and Rob Ashton, tur- ning in key saves. Nathan Brown scored the only goal of the first with a minute remaining, when he cashed in his own rebound from in front of the net. Peter Simms scored 1.G.A.'s only goal when he went around behind the goal and out in front again to tuck it in. Vince Criscione scored his two, one from a mix up in front of the net and the other, a screened shot from the blue line. Mike Butt picked up two and Scott MacLennan one on bad clearing passes. Swamp Auto 3 Frank Real Estate 1 Swamp edged a short handed Frank squad in what had started out to be a good fast hockey game but was interrupted by some un- necessary roughness. Gerry Stevens scored on his own rebound after he had taken a pass out from the corner to pro- vide the only scoring of the first period. Rob Romano tied the score when he fooled the goaltender on a shot from the face-off circle. In what turned out to be a 'bang bang play, Carl Payne scored on a pass out from Jason Dawson. Brad Lemieux closed out the scoring when he was left uncovered in front of the Frank net and banged in a pass out. Big win for Port Juniors On Sunday Nov. 5, the Port Perry 1.G.A. Juniors hosted their counterparts from Ajax. The girls from Port Perry weren't very gracious hosts as they went on to defeat them 14 to 1. Due to illness and injuries we were forced to borrow two players from our Tween team in order to avoid defaulting the game. The. coaching staff would like to thank Lindsay Dutkewich and Kim Pop- pleton for their help. It was much appreciated. As for the game the rustiness seems to be coming off of the im- ports as their passes and shots on goal were seldom off the mark. Defensively the girls played well in front of Bristol who did not have that much work but she did make the stops when called upon. Scoring for Port were Val Payne 6 assist, 1 goal; Krista Armstrong 3 assists, 3 goals; Jennifer King 2 assists, 5 goals; Kendra McCrae 1 assist, 2 goals; Kim Poppleton 1 assist, 2 goals; Lyndsay Dutkewich 1 assist, 1 goal and Laurie Thompson 1 assist.
