In the short business meeting we were asked -to contribute to the food bank for the month of November to help with the Tuck Shop at the hospital and to cater for the Pork Pro- ducers lunch on November 23. Diane McKinzey opened the worship with the hymn "Priase My Soul." The theme was love and sharing. This fitted in very well with our guest speaker Shel- ly Wright who gave a presentation on Horizons of Friendship with the help of a quiz and slides, Shel- ly told us the history and work of this organization. It was started by just three people from Cobourg after they had spent one year as volunteers, working with orphand children in Honduras in 1973. Now there are over fifty volunteers and they have raised twenty million dollars including grants from the Canadian government. Horizons works directly with the local people in a partnership.
