Our first game was gainst Ux- bridge and we controlled the play of this game from the start, win- ning 8-0. - Ryan Picard got things started with the first 2 goals of the game in the first period with Sean McEnaney and Noah St. Amond A team from Lucan, Ontario won the Bantam Tournament held in Port Perry on Saturday. Lucan defeated Oshawa 5-1 getting assists on both of these goals, The boys scored twice more in the second period on goals by Aron Royle and Lindsay Parry to give Port a 4-0 lead. The boys really came to life in the third, scoring 4 times on goals by Steve Desautels, Mike Slug- gett, Aron Royle with his second, and Sean McEnaney. Steve wes ; in the final game. Team captain, Derek Greenlee, accepts the trophy from Doug Moore, vice-president of the Port Perry Minor Hockey Corporation. The tournament was sponsored by Port Perry IGA. \ Jeremy Jemec, who plays centre for the Lucan Bantam team, won the Pineridge Sports most valuable player award. Peter King, Jeff Card and Lindsay Parry all . added one assist. Adam Heyes picked up the shutout. What was especially satisfying in this game was the fact that for the first time this year the boys went the entire game without tak- ing a penalty. The boys second game of the day was against the Oshawa Red JNRCULETE Ri Orono beat Peterborough 5-2 in the ¢ Wings. This was a close exciting game but unfortunately Port came out on the losing end of a 2-1 score. Ports only goal was scored by Jason Coutoulakis with assists going to Aron Royle and Peter King. Port controlled much of the play and out shot Oshawa by a large margin but couldn't pull the trigger when it counted. In the championship game the very impressive team from Lucan defeated the Red Wings 5-1. The boys would like to thank everyone who participated and helped out on this day to make it a successful day. Novice win two Port Perry Novice Reps had a busy weekend, with 3 games, the first of which was against Stouff- ville on Friday night. The boys took full control in this game and won by a 5-1 victory. Casey Vanschagen scored 2 assisted by - Dillan Weber and Scott Jeffery. Scott also scored 1 that was assisted by Troy Campbell. Seth Grey blasted one in, that was assisted by Jonathan Reed. Adam Hobbs slipped in the final marker again assisted by Scott. Shane Savage and Corey Branton were denied their shutout with on- ly 32 seconds left in the game when Stouffville scored the final goal. On Saturday the boys showed a great effort when coming up against a tough, Bowmanville team. Bowmanville won by a socre of 4-2. Port Perry goals were scored by Jonathan Reed and Troy Campbell with an assist to Dillan Weber and Scott. Then on to Sundays game, a 4-0 shutout over Manvers. Only 3 minutes in- to the game Justin Kowalczyk started the scoring. No goals in the second. Port Perry came back in the third with 3 more by Casey Vanschagen, Seth Grey and Blayne Kinnunen assisted by Danny Lyons. Shane earned this shutout by stopping everything in sight!
