30 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday. December 19, 1989 Novice House League hockey Re/Max 2 . Davids 1 The first game of the day saw Re/Max Realty taking on a deter- mined Davids Hairstyling squad in one of their usual action pack- ed games we're all used to seeing. The two teams played good positional hockey. Both goalies played very well in net. Scott Sanderson was in goal for Davids and Mark Sauter played in goal for Re/Max. Chris Orr played a good two way game for Davids and the team of Daniel Lee and Corey Branton played well on defence for Re/Max. The kind of hockey both teams played is a tribute to the coaching staff from "Both Teams." Scoring for Re/Max Realty was Wyatt Park scoring and assisted by Corey Branton. David Gainey scored a (Tiger Williams type goal) assisted by Jeff Harrison and Corey Branton. Scoring for Davids Hairstyling was Ryan McQuade scoring an unassisted goal. Van Camp 3 Port Perry Printing 1 The second game of the day saw Port Perry Printing taking on Van Camp Construction. This game saw both teams play good heads up hockey. Don't let the score 3-1 tell you this was a cake walk, because it "Wasn't"' Both teams were in the hunt right to the last minute. This was one of the games that a Mom or a Dad or a Coach could say '"That's my kid out there!" These boys put on a pretty good show. Scoring for Van Camp was 'Jamie Clarke assisted by Aaron Chambers. Jeff Ashton scored assisted by Keith Hancock, and Aaron Chambers. Aaron Chambers scored assisted by Greg Bruton and Keith Hancock. Scoring for Port Perry Printing was Tom Keeble assisted by Jeremy Heyworth and Graham Strickert. Jonathon Froats played goal for Van Camp and Glenn McCready for Port Perry Printing. Port Perry Printing 5 Re/Max Realty 3 After three and a half minutes into the second period the scoreboard read Re/Max 2 - Port Perry Printing 0. Then the Printers went to work scoring 5 straight goals. With 2:23 left in the game Re/Max scored, but Port shut down any offence that RE/Max had after that. Both goalies made a lot of key saves from some hard shots from the point. In goal for" Port Perry Printers was Tom Keeble and Sean Fletcher was in goal for Re/Max Realty. Scoring for Port Perry Printing was Glenn McCready assisted by Mike Versage. David Clouthier scored assisted by Mike Versage. Nick Pelyk scored an unassisted 3 SR 33% goal and Glenn McCready scored his second goal also unassisted. Adam Mabhaffy scored on a fine end to end rush assisted by Steve Martyn. Scoring for Re/Max Realty was David Gainey with an unassisted goal. Wyatt Park scored assisted + by Bob Cowie. Scott Cunningham scored assisted by David Gainey. Davids 2 Van Camp 1 Juniors romp over Ajax Port Perry I.G.A. Juniors after returning from their tournament in Nepean got back into league play when they travelled to Pickering Village to play against Ajax this past Tuesday night. The coaching staff made some lineup changes due to sickness and the girls responded very well. Jennifer Hunter was asked to don the goal pads for the game and did a steady job as she held Ajax to only 4 goals as our girls responded by scoring 14. Bristol Sleep who normally plays goal, moved to forward and played an exceptional game picking up 4 assists. In the second game, it was nail biting time again. After a scoreless first period of fast no nonsence hockey, neither team was willing to give away anything cheap. At the 7:45 mark of the second period Aaron Chambers opened the scoring on a fine unassisted goal. At the 24 second mark of the second period, Davids tied it up on assist, 2 goals and Melanie Dunne 1 assist, 2 goals. On Saturday we hosted the team from Woodville who is the top team in the league at present. Although the girls played well we just couldn't seem to slow the Woodville team down. Jennifer again played net and made plen- ty of stops allowing only 6 goals. Scoring for Port Perry in this game were Kristen Armstrong 1 assist, Kendra and Val 1 assist each and Denna who scored both our goals. On Sunday the Port Perry I.G.A. team hosted their counter- parts from Sunderland and were victorious. The last time these a goal by Tyler Wootton, assisted by Eric Wygerde and Chris Orr. In the third period Davids put the game on ice with a goal from Ryan McQuade assisted by Tyler Wootton. Both goalies played well. In goal for Davids was Michael MacLennan and Jonathon Chambers was in goal for Van Camp. two teams met, Port Perry lost by a score of 5 to 3. Port Perry turned the tables on Sunderland and defeated them by a score of 12 to 4. The girls all played well defensively as they did not allow Sunderland to get a second chance after Bristol made the first save. Scoring for Port Perry were Mandee Porter 2 assists, Kristen 2 assists, Kendra 1 assist, JoAnn 2 assists, 1 goal, Val 2 assists, 5 goals, and Denna 3 assists, 6 goals. Although the defense did not pick-up many points the quartet of Jennifer, Kathy, Mandee and Laurie were outstan- ding in helping Bristol. Certificates D.J.
