Thank you to all the con- tributors of news items - if you have not regularly done so perhaps you could make it a New Year's Resolution to phone in isis. Merry Christmas to you all! Congratulations to long-time resident Ivy Rahm, now of Vic- toria, B.C. who walked off with first place win in the writing com- petition sponsored by the B.C. Criminal Justice Association. The theme of the competition was "Parole and Community support to prevent Crime." Mrs. Rahm is a member of the New Horizons Creative Writing class and entered the contest at the urging of her friends. She was naturally elated when she was informed that she had won over rather stiff competition and is scheduled for a round trip to Ottawa early next year as her prize. The three runners-up each received $1000.00 cash. The United Church choir held its' annual Christmas party at the Luke farm on Saturday evening. Twenty-six people including Rev. and Mrs. Dale Davis enjoyed the pot luck dinner followed by a social time.
