Be one of the clever ones, dust off your nightcap and escape! via an armchair trip, once a month, first Thursday that is, 7:30 p.m. to be exact, at the Library on Water St., and let the Magic Carpet transport you to some wonderful places that you might never get to see. Why? Because it is the thing to do! We have some wonderful story tellers and pictures that il- lustrate varied lands, landscapes, architecture, people, etc., as seen through the eyes of our own local residents who were fortunate to travel to, and in some cases reside in these countries. These people have a wealth of interest to share with others as they take you via slide presenta- tions to little and well known places. It is hard to envision life so different from ours even a few hundred miles away unless we see for ourselves, and none of us are ever able to see it all. We take library books to broaden our knowledge and this is a once a | month opportunity to widen our horizons. As many world events unfold, we wish we could see more pic- tures presented of those areas. Coincidence, but our Bolivia topic in December was very timely. Feb. 1, the topic is SAUDI ARABIA & JORDAN. Come, join "Aladdin" with his magic lamp and be wisked away for an en- joyable free ride to faraway places.
