The weather Saturday may have been cold, but players spirits were high, as they competed In the second annual snow pitch tournament held In Port Perry this past week- end. All proceeds from this tournament went to the Port Perry Community Hospital Expansion Fund. by Wendy Clark Well we've made it through our first month of 1990 and it's been a great one. During the afternoon of Monday January 22, we had a bowling match. Congratulations to our top scorer Mr. Ted Whitter with 99 points. Tuesday sponsored a Plant Care session and then Church ser- vice in the evening. Mid-week we had a discussion group with everyone playing word-association. At 7 p.m. an ex- citing Bingo game began. Thursday (25) we had several residents kept busy making up several Valentine decorations. Later in the day many enjoyed at- tending Cocktail hour. The week ended with our *'Scot- tish Day." This particular day began with several mini-movies on Scotland. We then proceeded to do our morning exercises to Scot- tish music. Everyone then devoured a delicious Scottish lunch. During the afternoon a young man by the name of "Kirk" kept us well entertained with his bagpipes. We ended the day with PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, February é, 1990 -- 25 Residents enjoy Scottish movies, music, and food a Scottish quiz. Over the last week of January we had a baking session on Mon- day January 29th. Tuesday after- noon there was a Snowflake Tea. We had invited a special friend to join us. Piano music was graciously provided by Anne- 'Marie and Mrs. Beacock. A great afternoon was enjoyed by all. On the last day of January we had a Special Breakfast. A large group attended and were served a spectacular breakfast spread. The residents want to thank the Activity girls and volunteers for the extra special attention. Throughout the afternoon a small group were kept busy decorating for Valentines. The first day of February was spent working on crafts, wood- working and then Fun Games in the evening hours. Finally Friday February 2nd arrived, and in representation of Ground Hog Day we each made a silhouette of ourselves. Birthday wishes are extended to Miss Joan Tuck (Feb. 9) and Mrs. Lily Mortimer (12).
