Community Church Caesarea On a fine spring morning at 11 a.m. an average attendance for worship at the friendly Caesarea Church, with Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford in the pulpit. Kathleen Watts played the organ for the Service. Rev. Dr. Crawford used as his text -2 Timothy 3: 5, with a splen- did message; the theme being: "Appearing to be Godly." There is a great difference between holding a form of religion and re- jecting God's real power. Possessing His presence; His love; His forgiveness; to possess Christ is to have reality! To possess religion only; is meaningless! Next Sunday at 11 a.m. The Sunshine Club meets Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. Nestleton Presbyterian Church On Palm Sunday, April 8, 11 a.m. Rev. Wm. Fairley conducted the Service with Shirley Scott as organist. Psalm 31 was read responsively, and Scripture readings were Isaiah 50: 4-9 and St. Matthew 27: 26-38. Before going to their classes, the Sunday School pupils had a story, explaining the object lesson '""A Stone" as the voices of Easter proclaim the Easter message. Excerpts from Rev. Fairley's sermon: Most of us are reluctant to take part in public demonstra- tions whether to celebrate or pro- test. We cannot avoid taking a public stand in our conduct as we witness in contrast to those who scorn Christian values. Durham YMCA offers a variety of new programs The YMCA Durham Region is offering a variety of new pro- grams this spring. We have pro- grams for the entire family. Our preschool classes filled quickly but there are still openings in "Playschool." This is an unlicensed enrich- ment program, with crafts, songs and stories following seasonal themes. The stress is on fun and social experience. Mom & Junior team up for another exciting program called "Tumbling Tots' where both have fun with movement ac- tivities, small equipment and musical games. The YMCA has also introduced several "New" youth programs such as '"'Teen Leaders." This is a valuable self- awareness course for teens. They will develop leadership skills & coaching skills through the use of adventure based counselling. "E UN After-Four" is a great after school program where the children can enjoy games & crafts and interact in safe environment. For all those "'sports minded" youth there is 'Introduction to Sports." Youth will learn a varie- ty of sports and have fun too. Again this session we are offering "Stage Struck," an excellent drama and self-expression pro- gram for ages 6 years and up. The Baby sitting course will be offered again this session at the Port Perry YMCA and Cart- wright. For the adults we are of- fering an excellent weight loss program called 'Y-weight,"' as well as an enrichment program called 'Parents Only." A time to get together and discuss paren- ting issues. And for those of you who love to dance we are offering * "Ladies Jazzercise' which in- volves low impact workout, jazz steps.
