Cawker's wrestlers are beginners, but that did not stop them from bringing home a handful of medals from the Durham Re- gion Finals. The intermediate squad con- sisted of Colin Wiatrzyk, Brian Bacon, and Daryl Brown. Colin had a great day, mak- ing it look easy as he pinned all four of his opponents and brought home the gold medal. After winning his firgt three matches, Daryl Brown lost out in the medal round due to an in- jury and had to settle for the ronze medal. 4 AN Brian Bacon won his first match in sudden death over- time, won his second, but lost the third at the buzzer. He also game home with a bronze med- al. ' These three competitors are currently working hard, as they prepare for the provincial championships on April 21, to be held at Humber College. The junior team also had a good day by winning the Dur- ham Regional Championships over 15 other schools, and fin- ishing 10 points ahead of the second place finisher. The S.A. Cawker Wrestling Team brought home a handful of medals from the Durham Trevor Karkoulas had a first round loss, but came back to win his next four matches and the gold medal. Cory Wiatrzyk won all four of his matches, to also bring home the gold. Three of his four matches were won by pins. Ron Farrell had a perfect day winning all four of his matches by pins, and another gold med- al for S.A. Cawker. A solid effort by Gerry Mitch- ell also earned him a gold med- al for his efforts.
