30 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, July 24, 1990 MACKEY -- RITTER Bp Kedron United Church was the setting for the marriage of Lorrie Lynn Ritter and John Charles Mackey on April 14, 1990. Rev. Elwyn Hughes officiated at the service. The bride is the daughter of Esther and Herb Ritter of Oshawa. The groom is the son of Donna and Bruce Mackey, also of Oshawa. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin V-neck gown with an antebellum waist, leg-o-mutton sleeves and a semi-cathedral train. The gown was adorned with pearls, sequins, and French lace. She was attended by Valerie Bray of Oshawa, as her maid of honour. The bridesmaids were Rory Vincent, Cheryl Glazier, cousin of the bride and Lynn Bailey, cousin of the groom, all of Oshawa. . Michael Ritter of Oshawa, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer. Ken Evans of Oshawa was best man. The ushers were David Mackey of Ottawa, Robert Mackey of Oshawa, and Scott Mackey of Oshawa, all brothers of the groom, Stephen Ritter and Bob Ritter, both brothers of the bride, of Oshawa. Following the ceremony, the reception was held in Cullen Gardens where the bride's brother, Stephen Ritter was master of ceremonies. The bride's great-grandmother, Violet Midgley of Port Perry attended the ceremony. The couple honeymooned on Abaco Island in the Bahamas. They now reside in Port Perry. MARTIN -- BRAIN Mary Ellen Brain and Nathan Martin were united in marriage on Saturday, May 5th, 1990 by Reverend LePage in the Prince Albert United Church. The bride is the daughter of Jack and Elva Brain of Prince Albert. The groom is the son of Gord and Pauline Martin of Nestleton. The bride was attended by her sister, Donna Brain as maid of honour. Darlene Mar- tin, sister of the groom; Sue White, friend of the bride and groom; and Krista Brain, niece of the bride were bridesmaids. Dale Martin, brother of the groom, was the best man. Brian Brain, brother of the bride; Mike White, friend of the bride and groom; and Jason Brain, nephew of the bride were the ushers. The reception was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 419, in Port Perry. After a wonderful honey- moon in Mexico, the happy cou- ple now resides in Oshawa. FARMER -- CLINGMAN Melanie Clingman and Todd Farmer were united in marriage on May 26th, 1990 in the United Church at the Scugog Shores Museum by Rev. Stuart Macintyre. Melanie is the daughter of Mel and Mae Clingman of Janetville, and Todd is the son of Jim and Barb Farmer of Port Perry. Attending the bride as maid of honour was her sister, Wendy McMahon of Oshawa. The best man was Steve Atchinson of Bailieboro. The ushers were Troy Farmer, brother of the groom, and Brian Empringham, both of Port Perry. Amanda Atchison, daughter of the best man, was flowergirl. Jane Todd of Port Perry, friend of the bride and groom, was organist. A buffet and dance was held at the Legion in Port Perry. The bride's brother, Garth Clingman, of Omemee, was Master of Ceremonies. The couple spent their honeymoon in Lake St. Peter, and they are now residing in Prince Albert. Graduates Edward Canning, son of Fred and Vivian Canning & husband of Julie Bergshoeff, graduated from the University of Toronto Law School. Ed will be articling with the firm of Kingsmill, Ross & McBride of Hamilton, Ontario. Congratulations Ed, we are all proud of you. Cheryl Jackson daughter of George and Eleanor Jackson, graduated from Sheridan College with High Honors in Human Ser- vices Administration. She is presently seeking employment in the Human Services field. cr Holman-Bend # Patricia Marilyn Holman and Al Bender were united in mar- riage on Saturday, October 7th, 1989 in the Prince Albert United Church by Rev. Bob LePage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John David Holman of Prince Albert. The groom is the son of Fay Bender of Oshawa. Attending the bride as matron of honour, was Jody Batchelor of Cambridge. Ringbearer was Karin Teskey, both nieces of the bride. The best man was Greg Belbin and the usher was Darryl Crawford, both of Hampton. Special thanks to the bride's sister, Jackie Teskey and also to Erin Bennett, piper from the Toronto Scottish Regiment.
